Trooper is an eighteen-month-old pedigreed (papered) male chocolate-and-white border collie. He is desexed, microchipped, and up-to-date with vaccinations and worming. He is reliably house-trained and has had basic obedience training.
Beautiful and distinctive-looking with a striking coat and a fine build, he is a loyal, intelligent and affectionate dog and a much-loved family pet, but we have made the difficult decision to re-home him due to behavioural issues. Trooper is ordinarily a kind and gentle friend to all, but has recently displayed some random and limited examples of fear aggression. He has never bitten anybody, but he has nipped on a few occasions, and snarled and lunged at people. He requires an experienced owner who will be able to work through these issues with him, and his current family just isn't up to the job.
Troops ignores cats (and was raised with them), loves to chase and herd rabbits and other small animals, and can be grouchy with other dogs. Due to his behavioural problems, he would probably do best in a home without young children. He is a brilliant, fiercely intelligent and hard-working dog and we believe he will make the right owner very happy.
